As Head of Community and Communications, Karen is responsible for driving engagement across the LawNet membership, helping firms maximise the value of their membership and make the most of the opportunities available to them. Working closely with members throughout their LawNet journey, she ensures firms are aware of and actively using the wide range of resources, events, services and collaborative opportunities available across the network.

Karen plays a key role in developing and strengthening the LawNet community through regular communication, networking, events and member engagement initiatives. She is actively involved in many of LawNet’s flagship activities, including the annual Conference, Challenge and regional events, while also involved in the promotion and development of LawNet Connect as a central hub for collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Alongside supporting existing members, Karen works with colleagues to raise the profile of LawNet within the legal sector and is involved in attracting and welcoming new member firms to the network, helping to ensure the community continues to grow and evolve.

Having worked as a Partner in a law firm previously with 14 years' experience in legal marketing and business development, Karen brings a valuable understanding of both the strategic and operational challenges faced by law firms. She leads the Business Development & Marketing, and Client Experience Discussion Groups within LawNet, creating opportunities for members to share ideas, discuss emerging trends and exchange best practice with peers from across the network. She has also worked within a LawNet member firm in the past, and so understands first-hand the value membership can bring to a firm.

Outside of work, Karen lives in Devon with her partner and stepdaughters, often spending her weekends exploring the wild terrain of Dartmoor.
